Cite While You Write or CWYW is an automatically installed plug-in when you install EndNote on your computer.
It enables Word and EndNote to work together to produce your in-text citations and bibliography.
When it is properly installed you will see an EndNote tab (Windows) or toolbar (Mac) in your Word program.
How to install EndNote in Word:

Make sure you have EndNote software installed on your computer. You can buy it or sometimes get it through
Check if the Word plugin is installed
During the EndNote installation, a plugin (also called an add-in) for Word is usually installed. This lets you use EndNote inside Word.
Open Microsoft Word
Start Word on your computer.
Look for the “EndNote” tab
At the top of Word, you should see a new tab named “EndNote” (or “EndNote X9”, “EndNote 20”, depending on your version).
If you don’t see the EndNote tab:
Go to File > Options > Add-ins.
Look under “Disabled Items” or “COM Add-ins.”
Click “Go” next to “COM Add-ins.”
Check the box for EndNote and click OK.
Restart Word.
Using EndNote in Word
Click the EndNote tab to insert references, add citations, and manage your bibliography.
